In less than 24 hours, after 7 years together, Annie and I are getting married (Feb 5th) in a private ceremony on the beaches of Phuket, Thailand! Don't worry there'll be 1000's of photos, and some video, to sift through to make you feel like you were right on the beach with us....minus the sun and clear water. :)
Since you are reading this, chances are you've touched our lives in one way or another. You've shared in many of our stories from when we first met in college to traveling the world for 8 months to almost getting married on the NBC's Today Show. Tomorrow as we read our personal vows and exchange rings, please know that the love and support we've felt from our family, friends, and random stray pugs has helped us get to this point. So, oodles of thank yous from both of us Krieglberts!

Unlike some couples, we didn't have a pre planned first dance song so it was a process to find just the right song that fit us, our dancing style (or lack there of), and our wedding. We started by thumbing through our play lists and each picked some personal favorites. But after playing them for each other there weren't any clear winners but Annie did enjoy some laughs at my rather large collection of sappy love songs by the likes of John Denver, Richard Marx, and Whitney Houston.
After the laughter died down, we realized that instead of picking a song that was meaningful to one of us, we should try and find a new song with no prior connections. We asked our friend Ms.Google for some suggestions and after a couple hours of poking around, we stumbled on Bobby Darin's song 'More' and we both instantly knew it was perfect for us, our dancing style, and our wedding!
Here's the video for you to enjoy with us:

Tom and I recorded this video the morning we met Tim Russert at the Today Show on May 21. As you can see, we were crazy excited and I had even said that if we won the wedding, all I wanted was a wedding picture with Tim. :( We'll miss you Tim! Meeting him was by far one of the most exciting moments we had while on the show. He even called Chuck Todd "Chucky T" when we joked with him about "Chuck Todd numbers." Needless to say, we were huge fans of Tim and this year's political coverage won't be the same without him.

Well, we didn't have the best of Wednesdays this week when we got ousted from NBC's Today Show Wedding :(
Also, the trip to the show on Wednesday was very eventful for Tom. After countless flight delays, Tom and his brother drove all night (13 hrs total) to just barely make the show and sadly only appeared to get the boot.
The vote was apparently extremely close this week which brings another frustration in knowing we could have done more.
Anyhoo, frustration and sadness aside, we wanted to thank everyone for all the love, votes and words of encouragement. Thank you thank you thank you! We know we're lucky to not only have each other, but a group of amazing old and new friends! Your messages and stories from around the world have left us touched and humbled.
Though this experience ended with lots of tears, the Krieglberts will be planning our next steps soon. We look forward to a lifetime of adventures together!
We'll continue to use this site as a way to document and share our adventures.
Our Sincerest Thanks and Oodles of Love,
Annie & Tom
PS - After getting to know all the couples, we've happily thrown our full support behind LaDonna and Darnell. They're both amazing, sincere people completely in love and, if we can't get hitched on the Today Show, we're crossing our fingers that they can because they deserve it. So, if you're eager to still cast a vote for a deserving duo, please consider supporting our friends, Couple #2, LaDonna and Darnell. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/24596237/

No feather headpieces or cupcakes this week, but we did dash through the NBC studios in a frenzy on a wedding themed treasure hunt for this morning's Today Show Race. Leave it to me to find the big bottle of hair spray, pink marker and picture of Al Roker! :) Our uber-excitement kinda fuzzied our brains as to the directions, but we did our best and now we need your help! And your friends' help and you mom's help and your mom's friends' help! Second to last round...it's crunch time!

When we backpacked around Europe and Asia for 8 months, we did it on basically no money and a weak dollar. What that meant was we never went out at night, rarely ate out and almost always stayed in a 4-12 person dorm style youth hostel where you pay per bed. We even camped out at airports occasionally. Each night was a new experience as you found out who snored, who sleepwalked and who had the stinkies.
As we walked around each city, we passed all the fancy hotels and wondered what it must be like to not share a shower with 12 other people, but knew we would have to save that experience for another vacation later in life. At the time, hopping from hostel to hostel and meeting great random people from around the world proved a hugely influential part of our travel adventures, although admittedly we still had dreams of just one night in a fancy schmancy hotel.
Now the wait is over; each week the TODAY Show has treated us wonderfully by hosting us in some of NYC's finest hotels. First we stayed at the Club Quarters, which is just a hop, skip and a jump from the NBC studios. Last week it was the Radisson on Lexington. And this week they are upping the ante once more by hosting us in The Essex House, a 5-star hotel right off of Central Park! When we received the confirmation, we were stunned. A 5-star hotel! From a 12-Bed Youth Hostel to the 5-Star Essex House, this whole experience has been unreal and dream like.

Cupcakes were flying on Rockefeller Plaza Wednesday morning as Tom and I competed in Race Two of NBC's Today Show Wedding: Race to the Altar. We had 15 minutes to sell a whole lotta yummy cupcakes, so you know we went cupcake crazy. Tom broke out the German for some tourists and I broke out the spunky dance moves. Shockingly, despite my less than smooth groovin', we won! Woo-hoo! In a short 15 minutes, we raised $323 that will all go to Brides Against Breast Cancer. Hmm, maybe my Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Fundraising came in handy more than the dancing. :) If you were one of the many people who donated money for a cupcake, THANK YOU!
Let the Cupcake Selling Begin!
